Week 4: New Year's Resolutions (1/4/19)

Hej! That's "hello" in Danish. No, I'm not Danish, I'm Hailey, and it's finally 2019! With the new year comes resolutions, and this year my resolutions are weighted toward this project. Me and my group have not gotten as much done with Project FURever Home as we had expected to by January. All of us had hoped we could have started dog walking in the fall when there was nicer weather. Unfortunately, due to the time we have been alotted to work on this project, it doesn't seem like we will be able to start this before out final presentation in April. You know, unless it gets warm in the time before then.We would like to, however, start making treats, business cards, ingredient cards, and t-shirts before April. After sending out a few emails to local shelters, we have received permission from Partners 4 Pets to advertise their dogs for our project. Our goal is to include bag of treats and possibly a t-shirt with each dog adopted from our website or Instagram page. Our preferred format for each adoptable pet post is to have a picture of the pet, another picture with general information about them (i.e. name, age, behavior, etc.) along with a more in-depth description in the caption. Our main goal with this project is to get older dogs in shelters adopted, since people are usually more driven towards, and will ultimately adopt, puppies or kittens rather than full grown animals. e also want to focus on misunderstood breeds like pit bulls. Pit bulls and similar breeds are not often adopted because of the stereotype that they are aggressive dogs, which they are usually not. Until next time, when we talk about the dogs we've listed on our Instagram page! Here's a nice picture of two very god boys celebrating the new year to start off your 2019 right!
